The air chain is similar to the supply chain for agri-food products. Each link in the chain: production, packaging, transportation (land, sea, air), storage, and commercial distribution, must be maintained in optimal conditions to preserve the nutritional and organoleptic qualities of the products until they reach the consumer.
Controlling and monitoring the air surrounding fruits and vegetables during the postharvest phase is vital. It is necessary to employ systems that eliminate, minimize, and control agents that can deteriorate them, such as ethylene and other volatile compounds inherent to the natural ripening process, as well as spores and microorganisms that may be present.
At BION, a pioneering company in postharvest products, we have a range of products that are tailored to each of these phases and specific needs of the supply chain, ensuring that the air chain remains intact.
Furthermore, technology today enables us to have real-time data at our disposal. These data allow us to have greater control over production. That's why at BION, we have developed specific products that allow monitoring of the most relevant air data at critical moments during the post-harvest phase. Having access to this data will provide all the relevant information at your fingertips.
For this purpose, BION WORLD has been developed. A unique and exclusive service for BION customers. Easy to use and user-friendly, it allows access to information through any device and at any time.
Currently, access to data captured by the ETH Sense is possible. The first air filtration equipment for storage chambers that incorporates IoT technology. ETH Sense devices filter the air by removing ethylene, volatile organic compounds, and CO2, incorporating sensors that allow monitoring of these parameters and others such as temperature and relative humidity. These data are accessible 24/7 through the LCD screen or via the BION WORLD online platform. It is also possible to access data recorded by the RTL+ (Real Time Logger Plus), a device that allows real-time recording and visualization of temperature, humidity, and relative location of the cargo for 60 days.
