The year 2025 marks a historic milestone for the Giró Group, a company that has made a profound impact on the global fresh produce packaging sector. Since its foundation in 1925 by Ezequiel Giró Prat, the company has forged a path defined by innovation, commitment, and growth, establishing itself as a global leader in netting and packaging solutions.

A Logo That Celebrates a Century of Achievement

To commemorate its centennial, Giró has refreshed its visual identity with a new logo that symbolizes its evolution and forward-looking vision. Throughout 2025, the logo will feature a special “100” emblem, a symbol of pride and gratitude for the journey so far. This commemorative design will appear in all company communications, reflecting the values of effort, innovation, and dedication that have guided Giró for a century.

From Textiles to Global Leadership in Fresh Produce Packaging

Giró’s story began in 1925 with a focus on the textile industry, but its drive for innovation transformed its trajectory. In 1958, the company patented the first net bag, marking a turning point in the fresh produce sector. Since then, Giró has achieved numerous technological milestones:

  • 1962: Introduction of packaging machinery with the creation of Empac.
  • 1996: International expansion with Giró Pack in the United States.
  • 2005: Launch of GirBagger, a revolutionary packaging machine.
  • 2019: Introduction of the GirBagger Speed Line, capable of packaging 36 bags per minute.

Additionally, the integration of Serfruit and Sersuport in 2022 enhanced Giró’s capacity to automate packaging plants from selection to palletizing, reinforcing its leadership in the sector.

A Future of Innovation and Growth

With its headquarters in Badalona and seven factories worldwide, including a modern facility in Teruel opened in 2015, Giró continues to look ahead. Its commitment to sustainability, quality, and innovation ensures that it will keep delivering cutting-edge solutions for the fresh produce industry.

As Giró celebrates its centennial, it not only honors its rich history but also reaffirms its dedication to advancing alongside its clients and collaborators for the next 100 years of excellence.
