BG Door's EcoTop systems are controlled ripening systems for highly energy-efficient ripening of tropical fruits. It is the new standard in quality ripening, directing airflow over the product in the best and fastest way. More than 1,000 rooms worldwide have adopted EcoTop systems due to their superior ripening performance, low-cost operation, and unique multifunctional room capabilities.

EcoTop offers four types of systems, to suit all maturation needs. All of them designed in close cooperation with leading industry specialists. 

In doing so, BG Door offers guidance in airflow management to optimize energy efficiency and improve ripening quality, through standard or customized solutions.

EcoTop Start

EcoTop Start is a plug and play, ready-to-use ripening unit. It is pre-assembled and tested and includes an air cooler, heat pump (cooling and heating), control system, temperature sensor, manually operated tarpaulin and gas tight door.

It is suitable for all types of pallets, box types and partial load rooms.

It is a simple, flexible and economical construction and features low energy consumption. It includes adjustable cooling capacity and adjustable airflow for ripening with high humidity. It offers you maximum fruit quality with low ownership costs.

EcoTop Tarp

EcoTop Tarp is specially designed for pre-cooling and ripening using an innovative tarp system. The cooler, mounted at the rear of the room, blows the cooled air over the tarp-covered pallets. The air enters the crates from the side and returns to the suction wall via the central rail. In this empty space behind the suction wall, the air passes back through the cooler and is blown back onto the products. This ensures equal temperatures and maximum fruit quality.

It is a simple and easy to build system that adapts to all types of pallets, types of crates and partial load rooms, 1 and 2 level rooms. A local cooling system is required. The efficient air flow makes this system very energy efficient.

EcoTop Turn

EcoTop Turn is the most advanced system that can be found in the BG Door portfolio. This system changes the direction of the airflow. Not by turning the direction of the fans, but by turning the frames in which the fans are mounted. With the fans always running in the most efficient direction, optimum airflow and lower energy consumption are guaranteed. 

The side curtains ensure proper air conduction in the room. Air exits from the sides or from an opening in the center of the room (reversible directions). Suitable for all pallet types, dimensions and partially loaded rooms. For 1 and 2 level rooms.   A local cooling system is required. 

EcoTop Twin

BG Door's EcoTop Twin is a system with coolers mounted in the center of the ripening room, which ensures that air is blown transversely to both the left and right. This means that the air will pass directly through the fresh products and will be absorbed by the coolers located in the center of the room.

Like the Turn system, the Twin system blows air in two directions. The fans of the Twin system rotate 180 degrees inside the cooler, resulting in optimal energy savings. 

It is suitable for 1-, 2- and 3-level rooms. Our intelligently designed mobile part-load boards offer full flexibility in part-load rooms. Various covering methods can be chosen, such as air pockets and side curtains.

Reversible air flow. Air is blown crosswise to ensure equal airflow and maturation results. By rotating the fans 180 degrees inside the cooler, the fan is used more efficiently.
Flexibility. Suitable for all types of pallets, crates and part-load rooms.  Available for mobile part-load boards.
