Initially developed for NASA, now Airocide® is to be used in fresh produce. The technology uses photocatalitic oxidation, the only UV-based technology that does not generate Ozone, which is toxic and harmful. The equipment does not produce any harmful substances, its use is completely safe. This is the reason why NASA uses this technology up to this day. The device meets the requirements of the European Union EMC (Electro Magnetic Compatibility) 2014/30 and Low Voltage 2014/35 directives. The Airocide® technology is cleared by the FDA (United States Food and Drug Administration) as a Class 2 medical device.
Airocide® eliminates 99.99% of airborne pathogens, mycotoxins, PM2.5, pollen, spores, mold, bacteria, viruses, VOCs, smells, smoke. Additionally units extend shelf life of fresh produce and reduce weight loss for up to 60% (case study on blueberries by Agricultural University of Thessaloniki), for ripen avocados - it extends shelf life for 1 week (experience of Prosol, ABC Westland, NL), for tomato - it prevents mold on the stems of the tomatoes (Nemeskert Kft., Hungary).

Catalytic Generators invented and patented the ethylene production process for ripening chambers in 1973. The system consists of a catalytic-type generator that converts a liquid concentrate called Ethy-Gen® II into safe levels of ethylene, a natural plant hormone produced by many fruits, including bananas, tomatoes, avocados, mangos, and pears.
