Amman, Marlene? sponsors the Italian Republic Day celebrations

S?dtirol apples were in the spotlight in Amman, during the celebrations to mark Italian Republic Day. The gala evening, brought forward from 2 June to 24 May to avoid clashing with Ramadan, took place at the Italian Embassy with no fewer than 500 guests, each of whom received a gift of a single-apple pack containing a Golden Delicious or Red Delicious bearing the Marlene? name. The blue sticker apples came to Amman on the invitation of the Italian Ambassador, Giovanni Brauzzi, who considered it important to highlight an Italian product of genuine excellence and quality during the ceremony. The illustrious guests also tasted Marlene? apples during the dinner, as the Ambassador's wife, Alessandra Mazza, included several apple dishes on the menu. Marlene? has been exporting to Jordan for 15 years, with distribution concentrated above all in the capital, and increasing volumes. The VOG Consortium was one of the first to introduce branded apples into this Arab country, also supporting the product's sales with marketing and advertising projects. Last year it ran a television campaign, while this year billboards have gone up right across the city. ?This is an amazing opportunity for our apples to gain visibility,? commented Gerhard Dichgans, VOG Consortium Director. ?The fact that the Italian Ambassador chose our apples to represent Italian excellence gives us great pride. This is a major accolade for us and we decided to participate in the sponsorship project to strengthen our presence in Amman, a market where we have prospects for growth in the coming years.? Italian Republic Day was celebrated in Jordan with great pomp and circumstance, with many leading personalities amongst the guests. During the evening, the Ambassador showed a video entitled ?Italian Legacy in Jordan?, made to illustrate the bonds of economic, cultural and development cooperation that have linked the two countries for decades.
