We are pleased to announce that the seventh edition of the International Course on Fruit Postharvest Technology and Management at IRTA will take place from November 11th to 15th, 2024, at the Fruitcentre in Lleida! It is a unique center in Europe that integrates research work throughout the fruit value chain.
The main objective of the course is to provide knowledge and tools that can be used by professionals working in fruit conditioning/storage centers, as well as by companies involved in fruit postharvest management: supply of phytosanitary products to prevent alterations, postharvest machinery, cold and controlled atmosphere facilities, chamber design projects, transportation systems, packaging supply, products that improve fruit quality, and cleaning and disinfection products.
Internationally renowned researchers and technicians from IRTA with extensive experience in advising horticultural centers, as well as professors from the University of Lleida, lead this course.
The course (in Spanish language) is aimed at professionals and is limited to 20 participants to encourage participation, create debate, discuss concerns and specific needs of companies, and present real cases in postharvest management.
Topics covered include ripening and quality, physiology, pathology, technology, transportation, and distribution.
