CAMA2021 goes online!

The XIIIth International Controlled and Modified Atmosphere Research Conference (CAMA) is postponed and will take place from August 15 to 18, 2021. However, given the standing uncertainties about vaccinations worldwide we have decided to organise CAMA2021 as a pure online event and cancel all physical activities in Leuven. While we regret having to take this decision we feel there is no other proper way to deal with it. Practically this means you won?t need to arrange for any travel or accommodation. The impact on the registration fees still needs to be determined, but most likely these will be reduced. The aim is to provide minimal fees for students to maximise their participation. The?XIIIth International Controlled and Modified Atmosphere Research Conference (CAMA) is postponed and will take place from August 15 to 18, 2021. At this very moment we are finalising the concepts for the online event accommodating highly interactive sessions for both poster and oral presentations. Also sponsors will be accommodated for and informal networking between the participants will be stimulated. Altogether we plan to create an online event worthwhile joining and actively contributing to. Awaiting the final decisions some of the current deadlines might still be adapted stimulating last minute poster contributions and registrations for the online event. Special attention will go to the timing of the different sessions and the availability of the contributions afterwards to deal with participants from different time zones. With the theme ?Fast Forward to a Fresh Future? we aim at creating a unique exchange forum for discussing recent progress in scientific knowledge and industrial development of controlled and modified atmosphere technology for fruit and vegetables. During the event, we provide ample opportunities for presenting fundamental and applied research and technical innovations, discussions with international experts from academia and industry, and exhibitions of new products and services. The conference will be organised by the staff of the MeBioS Postharvest group of KU Leuven and the Flanders Centre of Postharvest Technology, in close collaboration with the ISHS, who will do every effort to make CAMA2021 a memorable edition of the CAMA series providing an inspiring scientific exchange forum. Looking forward to e-meeting you at CAMA2021 coming August. Bart Nicola? and Maarten Hertog, conference chairs.
