The core business of Catalytic Generators is make fruit degreening / ripening safe (and easy and accurate). Fruit ripening by ethylene application used to be a risky business. Bulky cylinders and awkward lecture tubes made the entire process difficult, unpredictable and sometimes dangerous, which is why we started Catalytic Generators, LLC. After extensive research and experimentation, our vision became a reality. In 1973, the Catalytic Generator and Ethy-Gen® Ripening Concentrate were patented, and suddenly fruit ripeners had a safe, easy method for applying ethylene. Rather than storing large quantities of compressed ethylene at a fresh produce warehouse, our on-site process of producing ethylene as it is needed. The core business of QA Supplies, a sister company, is to provide instruments from different high quality brands for temperature measurement, firmness testers, quality control, harvesting tools and equipment; water, soil & food analysis, air & gas analysis; humidifiers, hygrometers; pest control; pallet covers, bags and blankets; ethylene: ripening, removal. Both companies take care to contribute to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.  The 17 SDG are a universal call by the United Nations to action to end poverty, protect the planet and improve the lives and prospects of everyone, everywhere. ActionsMain actions by Catalytic Generators and QA Supplies include:- Catalytic Generators and QA Supplies utilize Pratt Industries (*) in recycling all of our post-consumer containerboard products to produce packaging boxes made of at least 77% recycled material.  We pay for this recycling service as part of a conscience effort to reduce waste & supply biodegradable packaging. Any vendor or consumer-shipped product to both businesses which includes packaging material of any kind is re-used and recycled within our shipping department. - We’ve moved our entire building to LED, low-voltage lighting having eliminated harmful mercury or vapor bulbs. This is part of a goal to have a more energy-efficient structure. - Both companies are equal opportunity employers. - Catalytic Generators manufactures its product in the United States, supporting our local economy. - QA Supplies has worked to reduce paper waste for our customers by supplying a digital version of our product catalog this year. Additionally, we’ve worked with our vendors to supply all user manuals, data sheets, and supplemental product information in a digital version located on our website. Collectively, these changes have significantly reduced the amount of paper consumption & waste produced by our business. - QA Supplies has made a conscious effort in recent years to avoid bringing on “throw away” products and work to add more durable, long-lasting products.
