Death of Dr. Kader

Textual email from Elizabeth Mitcham, resent by Allan Woolf:Colleagues and friends,It is with great sadness that I report the death of Adel Kader of a heart attack on December 10. He was just returning from a trip to South Africa to attend a postharvest conference (his passion) and some tourism with his daughter. Adel was a close friend, a mentor and a professional colleague to many of us.? For me, the shock of this loss is tempered by the recognition that while Adel will be sorely missed by many, many people around the world, his life will also be celebrated for the numerous and selfless contributions he made ? every day!? All we can do is try our best to fill the void his passing has left.A memorial service will be held at the University of California on Saturday, January 26.
