DECCO inaugurated a new factory in Brazil on October 27. The ceremony, held in Ituverava, was attended by the mayor of the town as well as other government officials and representatives from local universities. The new facilities are the only ones in the country able to emulsify polyethylene and shellac waxes, meeting both domestic and export legislation. Also, the new factory will be able to supply the Mercosur markets. Over recent years, Decco has allocated significant resources to develop the Latin American markets, which has resulted in significant achievements, both in sales and market share. The recent inauguration of its own production plant in Brazil is another sign of the commitment to emerging countries in Decco's strategy. Decco is constantly helping markets with little or no postharvest treatment philosophies to adopt this technology in order to increase their competitiveness and profitability. "Investing in Brazil is a very interesting development for Decco in a key region for the growth of the company," stated François Girin, President & CEO of Decco Worldwide. Decco is the postharvest division of UPL Limited, a global group in the field of agricultural supplies that also has phytosanitary products and seed treatments. The strategic support from UPL Limited, which is present in 123 countries and has 23 factories located worldwide, represents a competitive advantage for both Decco and its strategic partners and customers.
