DECCO IBERICA launches Deccopyr Pot, a revolutionary new fungicide based on pyrimethanil,  formulated in a fumigated form and recently authorized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, Food and Environment (Registration No. ES-00186), for use on stone fruit (cherry, peach, nectarine, apricot, plum ...) and pome fruit (apple, pear, quince and loquat). Unlike other fungicides, pyrimethanil has a high efficacy against a wide spectrum of fungi that cause large losses, such as Monilia, Botrytis, Penicillium, Alternaria, Colletotrichum, Cladosporium, Gloesporium ... and not only has a preventive, but also a curative action (Image 2). Thanks to its fumigant formulation allows an excellent diffusion of the product in environment, either in a chamber, truck or container which allows homogeneous fruit residues, thus avoiding the appearance of resistances. Also note that Deccopyr Pot has a low toxicological profile, which is demonstrated both; by the large MLRs allowed and by its application form that avoids the generation and discharge of wastewater (Image 3). With the completion of the registration in Spain in late February, Deccopyr Pot is already being used in long-term preserved seed fruit preservation treatments. With this launch the gun is given for use as a fungicide treatment in the next campaign of Stone and pome fruits. Deccopyr Pot is being registered in all European producing countries with a similar problem: Portugal, France, Italy, Greece ... and is projected its availability during this year 2017.  The first fumigant fungicide in Stone fruit Very few postharvest fungicides are authorized for Stone fruit, being the existing ones liquid formulated that force the fruit to be wet. Decco takes a step forward with the development of the first fungicidal fumigant for Stone fruit that allows the application of pyrimethanil in closed environments (chamber, container ...) protecting the fruit without the need to go through treatment lines. Likewise, the increase in the export of Spanish-origin fruit to new markets, such as China, requires the need for this type of product, which minimizes the losses caused by common fungi such as Monilia and Botrytis during transport (Figure 4 and 5).  The perfect complement in pome fruit In the case of the pome fruit sector, where DECCO has been the leading company in post-harvest solutions for more than 35 years, responding to the continuous changes that take place, Deccopyr Pot makes a strong step on the long path and a perfect complement for the wide portfolio of products for the apple and pear sector. Deccopyr Pot assumes an additional tool in the handling of this type of fruit and its possibilities are wide: as a single treatment for non-bathed fruit, as a wildcard to the application of Deccoprozil FW (Imazalil + Iprodione) in drencher, to break down resistances, as treatment large conservations, etc. In addition Deccopyr Pot becomes the prelude to the new solutions that Decco will soon have in the market. A luxury opening for the upcoming appearance of Trupick, the new generation of 1-MCP on the market.   Decco Ibérica Decco Ibérica is part of the multinational Worldwide Post-Harvest Holding BV. Founded in 1920, it now has manufacturing and research facilities in the United States, Spain, Italy, Israel, South Africa, China and India. The company's presence in more than 39 countries makes it the world leader in post-harvest solutions. The name Decco is given by the English words "Decay control", ie, decomposition control. Although the concept of Decco is nowadays much broader, the origin of the company name denotes the marked purpose of maintaining the fruit with good health and good presence from harvest to consumption.www.deccoiberica.es - www.deccopostharvest.com   More information
