End of Life notification: SM 685-series platform

After a successful period of more than 30 years the SM 685-series platform has reached the end of its usable life. The technology and features simply mature over time and are replaced by functionally richer technology. The component suppliers discontinued their product and a suitable replacement was not identified. Due to the nature of this technology, it has become more and more of a challenge to find replacement components. With that we regretfully have to announce the above product EOL. The SM 685-series platform includes the following controllers:    - SM 685/0    - SM 685    - SM 685 Master    - SM 685 Slave SuccessorIn order to guarantee a quick and economical conversion of the SM 685 controllers, various Alfa(net) controllers have been developed.  The following systems can be used as a follow-up system to replace the old systems.    - Alfa(net) 10 series    - Alfa(net) 50 series End of saleThe SM 685-series platform will be phased out for sales at the 1st of December 2020. The last order has to be placed until the 30st of November 2020. SM 685-series platform orders received after this date will not be accepted by VDH Products BV. The Alfa(net) 10 and 50 series be the new standard for future enquiries and orders. Please contact the sales department of VDH Products for further assistance. Only in consultation with the sales department of VDH Products replacement parts and spare parts for the SM 685-series platform can be offered (only when available). Delivery of spare and replacement parts for hardware can no longer be guaranteed. Efforts and difficulties in securing the obsolete components are increasing and result in additional costs. As a result of these efforts, we have to inform you that the prices will be increased immediately.
