Checking the bacterial contamination in packinghouses is essential for the good practices of sanitation in postharvest. One of the issues addressed by Infopost  71 is the surface analysis, through an article of A. Masso, from the Fruitech Fomesa Technical Department. Infopost 71, in Spanish language, is available below as pdf file. Other information in the same issue of Infopost is about FRUITGARD-OPP-20, a  new,  emulsifiable concentrate fungicide for use in treatment of citrus fruits by drencher. It is especially indicated for use in cases where problems of resistance to imazalil may arise. 147/2012, a recently published UE Regulation (amending Regulation 1333/2008 on Food Additives), includes the expansion of use of the food additives E 901, E 903, E 904 and E 905 to certain fruits. The permission started December 25, 2012. Infopost 71 includes a table summarizing the situation.
