Fortifiers through the waxes, a good alternative to reduce waste

The essay explained by Infopost 59, by Fomesa Fruitech, examines the effectiveness of different fortifiers added to the wax used in wax applicator line of the packinghouse. We studied its effect alone and in combination with the most commonly used fungicide in the wax (imazalil), half the usual dose use (2000 ppm IMZ). Thereby, we evaluated the effectiveness of different postharvest Green Line treatments on the control of blue and green rot of citrus caused by Penicillium digitatum and Penicillium italicum. The trial details are in Infopost nr. 59. The conclusions are that combination therapies Greengard-EO and / or Greengard, SK 50 and 1000 ppm of imazalil are a good management alternative in order to reduce chemical residues of citrus fruits, without a decline in protecting them during their commercial life.
