UNITEC GROUP, with the companies UNITEC, UT INSTRUMENTS and UNISORTING, have been present at Fruit Logistica in Berlin and have brought all the technological excellence that distinguishes it. The new machines, Cherry Vision 2 (figure 1), Blueberry Vision (figure 2) and Cluster Cutter, exhibited at the trade show, are the jewels in its crown and further increase the offer of Unitec machines dedicated to fruit and vegetable selection, sorting and packing. From the field to large-scale retail trade: three stages, one innovative and specific solution from the GroupUnitec Group is composed of different companies working together in an integrated manner to provide innovative and increasingly specialized solutions, dedicated to each stage of product processing and to each fruit or vegetable variety. Unitec has been at the side of Packing Houses all over the world for over 90 years with technologically advanced solutions, in order to improve their business with a particular focus on cost reduction and revenue increase. With these goals, it designs and develops specific technologies to process many types of fruits and vegetables, in order to provide its clients with solutions that can meet their needs and that are characterized by high quality standards, especially in the classification of various quality parameters. "The goals that have always pushed us to do our best are: continually improving our clients' business, reducing waste and guaranteeing end consumers products characterized by consistent quality over time, thus allowing packing houses to maintain, thanks to Unitec technologies, the pact of trust in the long run.", says Angelo Benedetti, President of Unitec Group, "The innovative technologies we are presenting at the trade show clearly prove this: we want to meet all our clients needs with increasingly efficient solutions, that are more and more specialized and can create tangible results." As for innovations, Unitec Group has presented at Fruit Logistica also those of UT Instruments, a company formed by the union of Unitec and Tr Turoni. UT Instruments develops portable technological devices to measure fruit quality parameters during all stages of the supply chain, from the field to Packing Houses, large-scale retail trade and general markets. Thanks to Ut Instruments, producers will improve their production standards and Packing Houses will be able to correctly sample products and provide them to retail and wholesale markets, which, in turn, by using these new tools and software can offer their clients-consumers quality that has been correctly classified and is consistent with every delivery, without incurring unnecessary and harmful waste. "UT Instruments has always been interested in preserving the quality of fruit and vegetables, from the field to the table, so that consumers can always find an excellent product, in line with their needs," says Enrico Turoni, President of UT Instruments, "UT solutions develop the potential of the Group, enabling it to deal with all the fruit and vegetable industry". Unisorting (figure 3) too has been at Fruit Logistica. It was founded in 2016 after the acquisition of three historical Italian brands, Longobardi, Sado and Sammo: Unisorting meets the increasingly demanding requirements of specialization in the field of specific technologies for the processing of apples, dates, onions, potatoes, mangoes, avocados, citruses and asparagus, improving especially the selection and classification of various quality levels of these products. The main focus is on increasing the efficiency of product processing. With Unisorting the offer of Unitec Group has become even more complete and wide. Outstanding technologies of Unitec Group:On the occasion of Fruit Logistica, Unitec Group has presented three outstanding technologies, developed as a result of its experience in the production of cutting-edge machinery for fruit and vegetable sorting and packing: Cherry Vision 2, Blueberry Vision and Cluster Cutter for rainier cherries. Cherry Vision 2It is an innovative system designed, developed and manufactured 100% by Unitec for the electronic classification of cherry quality. During last season, Unitecs Cherry Vision 2 significantly contributed to the enhancement of Melinda cherries: by using Cherry Vision 2 in the selection of their cherries, the Italian company was able to increase revenues, thanks to quality improvement. Now these cherries are correctly classified, and the company was able to excellently overcome a season that, due to environmental factors and the presence of the insect Drosophila suzukii, proved to be problematic. 60 cents saving on labor costs, +0.30 cents/kg in the price paid to producers. These are the figures made public by Melinda. These are the tangible results of Cherry Vision2. "Unitec technology assists us in product selection and helps us provide clients with consistent quality," said Franco Paoli, Director of establishments of Melinda Italia, "this is likely to increase consumption too and it will also lead to customer loyalty in the long run."Cherry catalogue Blueberry Vision:It is a pioneer technology in the field of blueberry selection and sorting. It is the first system, unique in its kind, that can be calibrated on specific quality parameters for each fruit variety and can analyze the whole blueberry surface without damaging it, and considerably improving the reliability in product selection and sorting before it is put on the market.Blueberry catalogue Cluster Cutter for rainier cherries:The Cluster Cutter, designed for rainier cherry processing, is the perfect example of a technological innovation dedicated to the specific characteristics of a single fruit. The innovative stems separator, patented by the company, was conceived specifically for the delicate variety of rainier cherries and was designed to achieve such a high level of precision that it can separate cherries joined at the stem without damaging cherries in any way. It is a real "revolution" in terms of cost reduction and efficiency improvement, thanks to the high automation of the lines dedicated to this delicate and precious fruit. More information Citrus
