Based in the heart of Emilia-Romagna, INFIA is one of the world’s leading companies in the fresh fruit and vegetables packaging industry. Today, Infia is making another important breakthrough towards innovation and growth, and is investing significantly in its main production site, based in Bertinoro (FC).The company, set up more than 65 years ago, has just finalized the acquisition of the former “Glasspack” premises, adjacent to Infia’s production facilities. The company’s production site, INFIA 3, will double in size, expanding to more than 70.000 sq.m of covered area for the production of  PET-based products.  PET, or polyester, is the raw material used to produce cost-effective heat-sealable plastic packaging for fruit and vegetablesFrom Bertinoro, Infia exports to more than 80 countries all over the world. The group, with production facilities in Bertinoro and Valencia, Spain and commercial branches in the UK and Spain, has 420 employees globally and produces more than 3 billion units a year exclusively for packaging fruit and vegetables.  Since 2004, Infia has been part of the LINPAC group, a UK-based fresh food packaging giant. “This new and important investment is part of a renewed growth process in our plants, both in Italy and Spain. This process is aimed at increasing the production capacity and most importantly at accelerating innovation in our processes and products. Innovation is part of our DNA, and this is what makes us who we are as a company”.
