International Conference on Postharvest Management for Better Food Security

The International Conference on ?Postharvest management for better food security? will be held in Hanoi, Vietnam, from November 5 ? 7, 2018. This initiative is triggered in Vietnam as it provides a rich source of tropical fruits and vegetables that potentially can fulfill consumer demands from countries situated in more moderate climates. Equally well, produce from those countries might find new markets in the Asian corner as long as supply and demand can be properly matched, acknowledging cultural differences with regard to product expectations and quality requirements. This conference aims to create a platform for the international community to meet and to share ideas and research updates regarding postharvest systems to facilitate global marketing of fruits and vegetables, to reduce global postharvest waste and losses, and eventually to create social and economic benefits on both ends of the chain.
