Natural protection for citrus fruits during postharvest

Several natural products offer alternatives to conventional treatments to control postharvest diseases in citrus fruits. Dr. Ernesto Conesa, Technical Director Fomesa Fruitech, summarizes in Infopost 78, the good results obtained in several trials that used potassium sorbate and an essential oil in different formulations: aqueous solution, FRUITCARE-SK, waxes, WATERWAX-EO, and WATERWAX-SK, and as a fumigant, GREENFOG-MO, comparing with conventional fungicides (imazalil).
