UNITEC innovation arrives for Italian cherries to Di Palma company: "Despite adverse weather, UNITEC CHERRY VISION 2 does wonders"

Unitec strong focus on innovation, applied to the improvement of cherries processing, has arrived in Italy too.Following the excellent results achieved at the international level by Unitec technologies, in 2016 Di Palma Donato & figli s.r.l. was the only big company in southern Italy dealing with cherries processing that decided to use Unitec technologies, that are currently the most efficient and advanced in the world in the cherries processing sector.Therefore, it was Di Palma Company, based in Conversano (Bari), that opened the season. This year the company celebrates 40 years of activity in the field of fresh fruit and vegetables processing and sale (reaching an amount of 5,000 tons of cherries sold per year). On this occasion they have chosen to improve the processing of this precious and delicate fruit with a new and innovative 20 lanes Unitec installation, that has an hourly production capacity of about 10/12 tons, according to the average size of fruits."I am very satisfied with the investment - says Saverio Di Palma, one of the eponymous company owners. - This year, since we had a rather unusual season, there is much cracking in cherries, but this machine does wonders! It removes everything that is not marketable."The new electronic sorting installation set up at Di Palma warehouse is, in fact, equipped with Cherry Vision 2, the innovative system entirely designed and developed within Unitec R&D department, which guarantees a non-destructive internal and external quality selection of cherries. It also allowed Di Palma Company to improve the processing efficiency and the quality of the output product, through high standards of reliability in the selection of the various quality classes in every lot of cherries."The sizes are perfect. - continues Saverio Di Palma - When we sell abroad, products must have uniform sizes and this is exactly what we could not achieve earlier with the mechanical machines.
