At Macfrut 2013 UNITEC presented a range of technologies developed in line with the companys commitment to making customers more successful by improving competitiveness through innovative but reliable new technology capable of increasing the efficiency of fruit and vegetable processing plant. The machines displayed are designed not only to reduce the cost of processing but, at the same time, to increase income by improving the quality of the product presented to the market. The technologies on UNITEC stand at Macfrut 2013 included: UNI_ONE LF jolly©, picture 2, an extremely versatile electronic sorter capable of processing a wide variety of fruits and vegetables, from apricots to peaches, persimmons, lemons, aubergines, mandarins, apples, pears and tomatoes. The machines great versatility allows it to use the same system to sort products of different shapes. This dramatically reduces investment cost amortisation times and increases the profitability of the entire processing cycle. SUPERSOFT_EXIT©, picture 3, an ultra-delicate unloading system capable of ensuring that apples leave the sorting process in perfect condition. The system is designed to eliminate all kinds of damage to apples as they are unloaded from the sorting machine. The system is installed with APPLE_VISION© internal and external quality, colour and size selection technology. UNI_FLY©, picture 4, an optical-electronic sorter designed and developed to provide an effective solution to the difficult process of sorting small fruits like grapes and cherries in syrup. The UNI_FLY© system is equipped with a vision unit with high resolution camera to identify fruits of non-conforming colour or shape and foreign bodies, depending on the program selected. UNI_FLY© technology delivers a range of benefits, including:- the ability to detect defects that are not visible to the naked eye, resulting in a sorted product that is perfect for downstream processing or sale on the market;- reduced labour costs for sorting personnel and more reliable sorting quality;- the possibility of installation in existing lines.
