UNITEC,  the international group specializing in innovation within the fruit and vegetable sector, with technologies dedicated to over 35 different varieties of produce, was one of the exhibitors at the 2015 edition of Macfrut. This is one of the industry’s most important events, held at Rimini Expo Centre from 23 to 25 September. Macfrut 2015 saw UNITEC in a key role with the launch of Unitec Intelligent Packaging. The new Packaging Division results from over 90 years of experience Unitec has acquired in the field of fruit and vegetable quality selection. The group’s mission of providing innovative solutions for improving all stages of fruit and vegetable processing – now also includes packaging for other sectors. Unitec’s new Division specializes in vertical food packaging machines. From pasta to biscuits, flour, pet food and ready-to-eat fruit and vegetables, you can count on the company’s 20 plus years of experience and professionalism in design, service and sales. UNITEC’s expertise in technologies for internal and external fruit quality selection was also be presented at Macfrut 2015. These state-of-the-art systems allow processors to optimise production capacity, increase labor savings and efficiency, enhance product quality and deliver benefits to the entire supply chain, right down to the end consumer. Thanks to UNITEC technology, and the company's Ultravision systems in particular, processors can select fruit on the basis of many different quality parameters. These include degrees of Brix, firmness, external and internal defects, in addition to conventional parameters such as size and colour. During all phases of sorting and packaging the fruit is transported and handled with maximum care. Quality selection is a strategic asset, and UNITEC systems, distinguished by their innovation and reliability, enable fruit and vegetable processors to put in place strategies for export, developing shipment plans according to different degrees of ripeness. Unitec sorters guarantee consistent fruit quality, improved customer loyalty and increased consumption. “It doesn’t matter whether you’re talking about apples, cherries, blueberries, apricots or anything else,” states Angelo Benedetti, Chairman of Unitec. “Every fruit has its own peculiarities and characteristics, but for us at Unitec the goal is always the same: developing and making innovative, custom technologies in response to the real needs of fruit and vegetable processing plants worldwide to allow them to offer products with Consistent Quality over time, able to gain the trust of consumers. This is to improve their image in the various markets, with resulting benefits for their business.” “Every day,” Benedetti concludes, “we at UNITEC are working to secure this ambitious goal and we’re happy to do so. Together with our clients.”For further information:UNITEC S.p.A.Clara Colonelli, clara.colonelli@unitec-group.com, www.unitec-group.com
