Postharvest 2024, the International Scientific Event on Postharvest Technology, Pathology, and Health

The strategic position of New Zealand and its focus on export demand research and innovation to ensure the delivery of high-quality horticultural products to distant markets. Postharvest pathology plays a crucial role in these systems, and the growing interest in healthy products underscores the relevance of these areas.

For this reason, it is not surprising that New Zealand's experience and leadership in these fields make it the natural choice to host the Postharvest 2024 symposium, to be held from November 11th to 15th at the Rotorua Events Centre.

Postharvest 2024 now includes three symposia: the IX ISHS International Postharvest Symposium, VII International Symposium on Postharvest Pathology, and the X International Symposium on Human Health Effects of Fruit & Vegetables (FAVHEALTH 2024). This event offers a unique opportunity to meet leading professionals in the fields of postharvest, pathology, and health-related research.

A comprehensive program with a strong emphasis on young researchers

The Postharvest 2024 program combines high-quality scientific presentations with engaging workshops and informal discussions. There will also be a special emphasis on young researchers and graduate students. To this end, the All Student Pre-Conference Workshop will be held in the afternoon of Monday, November 11th. This workshop will provide a platform for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows to network with each other and meet prominent members of the postharvest research community before the conference.

Additionally, seven workshops will be conducted:

• Food and Natural Health Product Regulatory Considerations
• Crop Plants as Models

• Discover Sustainable Packaging:  A Workshop at Scion

In addition to the scientific aspects of the symposium, there will be a recreational program that includes social activities and opportunities to enjoy the unique culture of Aotearoa/New Zealand and Rotorua, a world-renowned tourist destination.
