RESTRAIN, company specialized in potato storage, developed a solution to manage CO2 levels in potato storage rooms. Is is an energy-efficient CO2 extractor that only switches itself on when the carbon dioxide level in your store gets too high. The extractor extracts the excess CO2 without affecting the other conditions in the storage facility. The grower places the extractor low to the floor, where the CO2 level is highest. The exhaust exits through a hole in the wall. This can often simply be done via the existing nebulization port where CIPC used to be injected.

How does it work?Restrain´s CO2 extractor prevents fluctuations in storage conditions by controlling CO2 levels internally. An integral sensor measures the amount of carbon dioxide in the store. When the CO2 level exceeds a selected value, the extractor flushes the excess carbon dioxide, via a pie through the wall, to the outside. One CO2 extractor can regulate the CO2 level from 500 tonnes of potatoes. AdvantagesThe CO2 extractor allows: - Less weight loss - Lower energy costs - Better fry colours It is suitable in all stores. More information
