The European Horticulture Congress (Europe Horticulture Congress - EHC 2024) is the major event of the year in international horticulture: 1,000 participants, 10 symposia, 11 technical tours and 5 Post-Congress professional tours in the most important horticultural areas of Romania, plus hundreds of professionals from over 50 countries.

If you want to learn about the latest scientific achievements in horticulture, join EHC 2024, between May 12-16, 2024, in Bucharest, in an iconic building of Romania - The Parliament Palace.

Young researchers in the spotlight!

EHC 2024 encourages the active participation of young people, integrating both students and early professionals into the scientific community through training and mentoring. With this, we want to ensure the continuity and future of research in horticulture.

The program include 30 kenote speakers and a Symposia about Postharvest

The congress brings together 30 keynote speakers internationally recognized for their notable expertise in the field of horticulture. They cover a wide range of disciplines and bring to the fore the latest discoveries and research in the field.

This year the program includes 10 symposia, where science and innovation meet representatives of the agricultural industry in an open dialogue about when, how and why, bridges can be created for the sustainable development of European and world horticulture.

The themes of the 10 symposia are focused on current challenges in the horticultural field and are:

- S01 History of horticulture in Europe

- S02 Sustainable production of vegetables, from seeds to sources of health promotion

- S03 Fruit production systems for sustainable and resilient development

- S04 Viticulture and winemaking between tradition and innovation

- S05 Forest fruits in Europe, between opportunities and challenges

- S06 Ornamental horticulture at the service of European society

- S07 Urban horticulture: from vertical farming to planting design

- S08 Genetic resources in horticulture: screening, propagation, utilization and conservation

- S09 Robotics, mechanization and intelligent horticulture

- S10 Post-harvest and the quality of horticultural products

Post-Congress - Discover Romania through the EHC 2024 tours

The technical and post-congress tours are carefully designed for an authentic experience, by offering to every participant a direct contact with the history, traditions and natural beauty of the country.

Whether exploring the medieval castles of Transylvania, tasting the refined wines of Moldova or visiting the picturesque landscapes of Muntenia, each experience will contribute to building a complete and authentic image of Romania. The congress through its technical and post-congress tours will help highlight Romania's natural and cultural resources, contributing to its consolidation as a preferred tourist destination in Europe.
