The Other Side of the COVID-19 Pandemic

The COVID-19 Pandemic makes us aware of how we share the same planet and need each other to solve this problem. Interruptions in our food pipeline caused by COVID-19 present unique postharvest losses. The "food backup" caused by interruptions in our labor and transportation systems challenge us to find unique solutions. This is a time that we need to reflect on how we got into this situation and plan how to avoid pandemics in the future. I believe that our present industrial food system has contributed substantially to this pandemic and that we need a more regenerative agriculture alternative.

The COVID-19 Pandemic makes us aware of how we share the same planet and need each other to solve this problem.   Interruptions in our food pipeline caused by COVID-19 present unique postharvest losses (*). Regenerative Agriculture provides us the unique opportunity to produce safer and more nutritious food and at the same time attack the climate crisis that is  closing in on us. To advance this win-win opportunity the World Food Preservation Center LLC, in conjunction with Regeneration International and the Rodale Institute, has organized the "1st Global Congress on Best Regenerative Agriculture Practices to Reverse the Climate Emergency."   Deaths from COVID-19 infections have occurred disproportionately among populations suffering from noncommunicable diseases such as high blood pressure, heart disease, and diabetes. These populations are found predominantly among poorer people in both the developed and developing world.  Noncommunicable diseases have been found to be closely related to diminished food nutrition and synthetic pesticide contamination of our food. To address these problems the World Food Preservation Center LLC in conjunction with the Noncommunicable Disease Alliance in Kenya, Organic Consumers Alliance, and Elea Africa have organized the "1st Global Congress on Safe Food and Noncommunicable Diseases."   The World Food Preservation Center LLC welcomes your support and ideas as we work to sustainably get to the other side of the COVID-19 Pandemic.   Stay Safe and Healthy!Charles L.
