The thirteenth edition of Interpoma, the only international apple trade show, is just around the corner and will take place between November 21 and 23, 2024 at the Fiera Bolzano. And IPOMA, the go-to industry magazine, will be sure to turn heads with its new, digital edition

The apple industry will meet in Bolzano between November 21 and 23, 2024 for the Interpoma’s thirteenth edition. The IPOMA’s third edition is one of the many novelties at the international apple trade show. It contains insights provided by numerous experts focusing on the event’s main theme: digital solutions in the apple industry. The magazine will present an overview of the sector’s performance and the main innovations which are changing how apple-growers manage their orchards, such as sensors, or AI’s added value for irrigation systems and crop protection. It will also provide readers with food for thought on genetic engineering and its applications in the sector, which finds itself in a constant state of flux due to climate change, and spotlight new technologies making considerable progress towards sustainable management in orchards.

IPOMA is coordinated by consultant and industry expert Gerhard Dichgans. Interpoma visitors can choose to read the magazine in a paper format printed on apple paper –– and in a first-ever online format. This new, digital format brings the magazine’s content to life: readers can scan the QR codes to access videos, audiobooks, and more online resources, making this a truly interactive experience.

Giulia Montanaro, Interpoma Brand Manager, says:

“IPOMA is the perfect mix of tradition and innovation. With Its refined graphics the magazine now contains more interactive and digital content. Its words and photographs will talk about the ongoing transformation in the apple industry as avant-garde tech and the apple-growers’ continuous efforts and dedication merge to tackle the challenges of the future.”

Innovation will also take center stage during the 2024 Interpoma Award. The Award is organized by Fiera Bolzano and the Free University of Bolzano’s Faculty of Agricultural, Environmental and Food Sciences, and sponsored by the SOI, the Italian Fruit and Vegetable Growing Society.

The Jury will select the winners from the entries which revolve around sustainable apple-growing and new technologies. The hopefuls will present cutting-edge technologies which enable substantial advancements in sustainable orchard management, a fall in the use of plant protection products and fertilizers, and a reduction of the carbon footprint in the orchards, all in line with the guidelines of the European Union’s Farm to Fork 2030 directive. And the award will also involve another type of jury – all thanks to the premiere of the Visitors' Choice Award! During the trade show’s first day, visitors will be able to vote for some of the AI technologies displayed at the FieraMesse H1 Eventspace. The winners will be declared on Friday, November 22, which marks the end of the two-day 2024 Interpoma Congress.
