Above medicinal plant extracts have been attribute to have medicinal properties against spoiled onion. The leaves were extracted directly by solvent Extraction method. Infected onion sample was collected from local vegetables marked at Mannargudi, Thiruvarur (District), Tamil nadu. The bacterial and fungal colonies were identified from spoiled onion sample by standard procedure. Isolated bacteria were identified by Gram?s staining and various Biochemical test. The isolated fungi were identified by Lactophenol cotton blue technique. Totally 3 bacterial species were identified namely Erwinia sp., Bacillus sp. and Staphylococcus sp. Totally two fungal species were identified namely Aspergillus niger and Aspergillus flavus. By this study antimicrobial activity was performed by well diffusion method. Allium cepa and Azadirachta indica effectively to kill all the pathogen at 75 ?l and 100 ?l concentration of the leaf extract shows highest antimicrobial activity. The antimicrobial activity of the extract was mainly depending upon the phathogenicity of leaves.SourcesNatural Antimicrobials in Post-Harvest Spoilage of OnionMangalanayaki R & Priyadharshini RStudies in Indian Place Names, February 2020, Vol-40:155https://archives.tpnsindia.org/index.php/sipn/article/view/111 Picture?Purple basil or tulsi or Ocimum sanctum by Amazon.es
