The organizers announce that the III International Symposium on Postharvest Pathology: (http://www.ishs.org/symposium/501) will take place in Bari, Italy, from June 7 to 11, 2015. The symposium will be held under the patronage of the International Society for Horticultural Science (ISHS), the International Society of Plant Pathology (ISPP), the Italian Phytopathological Society (SIPaV) and EXPO2015. The goal of the symposium is to facilitate the exchange of knowledge, methods, technologies, and ideas among scientists, industry, producers, and retailers in order to develop effective, appropriate, and commercially viable approaches to postharvest disease management of fruit and vegetables. The symposium will include invited lectures, contributed oral and poster presentations, and exhibitions. The main subjects to be covered are: molecular genomics, epidemiology and detection, chemical and alternative control strategies, integrated control approaches and climate change and postharvest diseases management. Opportunities to visit packinghouses, production sites, and places of local interest during the symposium will also be arranged. You will have the occasion to enjoy food, weather, history, friendly people, and the many attractions that Bari and surrounding places offer. We all would really like to welcome you in Bari next spring. It will be a great opportunity to meet again after the previous symposia held in Leesburg, USA, Lleida, Spain, and Kusadasi, Turkey, to talk about how to use science to increase food availability. ? ? ?
