Constant success: Bizerba again reports record sales

BIZERBA, a leading provider of weighing, slicing and labeling technology, achieved worldwide sales of 675 million euros in fiscal 2018. Thus, the family-owned company based in Balingen (Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany) again reported record sales like in the same period of the previous year. Bizerba is owned one hundred percent by the Kraut proprietor family. The strong sales in the past fiscal year primarily results from European countries outside of Germany which accounted for as much as 45 percent of total sales. Foreign countries as a whole accounted for approximately 68% of the company’s total sales. Sales thus grew by approximately 3%. With 216 million euros, sales in Germany were at the same high level as in fiscal 2017. Business sectors with the highest growth rates included the Industry Solutions segment and the Business and Financial Services fields. These three segments each recorded an average sales increase of approximately 4 million euros. The number of employees grew to 4,146. “Our continued strong results in fiscal 2018 confirm our path of achieving growth by innovation”, said Andreas Kraut, CEO and proprietor of Bizerba. “We will continue to expand our portfolio by innovative hardware and software solutions and comprehensive digital service offerings. Furthermore, promising partnerships enable us to enter new business fields. New developments including the world’s first affordable “loss prevention system” for the retail business or SmartShelf, an intelligent shelf developed in cooperation with Microsoft, set the stage for continued growth in the AI market.” Success drivers include the core sectors of weighing, slicing and labeling technology, while the Digital Services and Sensor segments and the company’s various financing offerings also made significant contributions. In addition, Bizerba strengthens its Balingen and Meßkirch facilities with investments of 15 million euros over the course of next three years. A major part of these investments is a new center for spare-parts logistics in Balingen, where the headquarters and the service department are located.
