F Concept, the INFIA side ventilation concept for the berry sector

INFIA has developed a new side ventilation concept, the "F Concept". Good air circulation in the tray accelerates the pre-cooling process of the fruit. This slows down the ripening process and thus extends the shelf life of the fruit. In addition, the side holes facilitate the dispersion of ethylene. This packaging is specially designed for grapes, strawberries and berries. Advantages for growers / exporters: - 25% faster pre-cooling and therefore higher productivity in the packaging plant. - Longer shelf life of the final product - 25% energy savings.

Advantages for importers / supermarkets: - 25% reduction of CO2 released into the atmosphere and therefore a lower carbon footprint. - Elimination of vapour condensation at the point of sale, resulting in higher product visibility and lower incidence of fungus. - In the case of thermowelding, it is sufficient to use a standard film instead of a macro/microperforated film, leading to considerable cost savings - Lower ethylene emissions and therefore longer product life.
