FAM Tridis 240P makes Lamb Weston / Meijer pretty Ziggy

The motto of Lamb Weston / Meijer is an explanation for its success, and for the success of the partnership with FAM. Because, 'When most businesses look at a potato, they see just a potato. But not us. We see possibilities.', could just as well be our tagline. We constantly go looking for ways to improve the cutting of potatoes and production of French fries. This resulted in the robust, high quality & capacity tridimensional dicer FAM Tridis? 240P. It was tested and approved in cooperation with leading frozen foods companies, including Lamb Weston / Meijer. And after testing, they immediately ordered four machines for their production plant at Bergen op Zoom. The machines are tasked with processing tons of potatoes to produce crinkle-cut chips, both regular and deep crinkle-cut fries. This product is better known to the consumer as 'Ziggy Fries': a very crispy chip with a well-structured outside and a smooth texture on the inside. Next to its unique appearance, it offers the end customer an enhanced potato taste and

This resulted in the robust, high quality & capacity tridimensional dicer FAM Tridis™ 240P. Next to its unique appearance, it offers the end customer an enhanced potato taste and extra-long crispiness, even when they cool down. This special cutting shape calls for a machine that cuts the potato perfectly from beginning to end to ensure uniformity along all four sides of the French fry. Next to the pristine cutting quality, another main reason that Lamb Weston / Meijer puts its trust in the FAM Tridis 240P, is its robustness and easy maintenance. The French fries industry needs reliable machinery that guarantees minimal downtimes. The FAM Tridis 240 stands out with its movable electrical cabinet that ensures easy access to the drive compartment as well as the cartridge system for the removal of shafts and bearings. Besides cutting quality, machine maintenance has to be flawless. But cutting output also was a decisive factor. When processing high volumes, minimizing waste and starch losses increases the revenues. When the cell structure of the potato is badly damaged during cutting, the potato will then lose starch and moisture. This quickly adds up on large-scale processing lines. But Lamb Weston / Meijer experienced that the FAM Tridis 240P combines optimal product throughput with a fast transit speed and minimum travel path to offer excellent cutting quality and minimum loss levels. And Lamb Weston / Meijer knows its fries. The story of potato processor Lamb Weston starts in 1950, when F. Gilbert Lamb sets up a company in Weston, USA. Since then, its consistent focus on innovation has made Lamb Weston a key player in the potato market. In the Netherlands, Cees Meijer was enjoying parallel success with his business, expanding into Meijer Frozen Food. In 1994 the two firms teamed up in a joint venture. And a successful one at that: in 2016, the company processed 1.2 million tonnes of potatoes into 710.000 tonnes of frozen products and had a sales volume of 650 million euro.
