Giró packaging solutions are the most sustainable on the market

The net packaging is one of the most sustainable packaging that can be found among consumer products and, in particular, among food products. The unparalleled breathability and visibility of the net packaging not only ensures that the fruit or vegetables contained in it retain their natural properties and are displayed to the consumer in the most attractive way, but it is also extremely lightweight. Current net packaging weighs between 1.8 g and 10 g for 1 kg of contents, a much lower ratio than that found in most packaging in the food industry and other FMCG sectors.

Giró solutions for sustainabilityEcoGiró is the brand through which GIRÓ expresses its commitment with the environment and sustainable development. It proposes three different sustainable packaging alternatives, two of them based on lightweight recyclable plastic packaging and the third based on compostable materials. All packaging in the Giró standard range is 100% recyclable and complies with ISO 18604, Packaging and the Environment certification. In many countries, these containers can be deposited in light or plastic containers for subsequent sorting. Giró has gone one step further and has not only gone beyond its 100% recyclable ECOGIRÓ STANDARD packaging, but has also developed the ECOGIRÓ LIGHT range, a new variety of netting that manages to further reduce its weight by up to 20% while maintaining the resistance of the packaging. The recyclability of these materials allows them to be transformed again, promoting a circular model. On the other hand, Giró promotes the MONOPRODUCT packaging, which reduces the number of different materials in the packaging to just one, making recycling easier and more efficient. On the other hand, Giró also has a range of ECOGIRÓ COMPOSTABLE packaging, which uses 100% certified compostable materials. This range is made up, on the one hand, of stapled packaging composed of compostable mesh and labels and, on the other hand, of thermowelded packaging with compostable film and mesh. The compostability of these materials allows them to be transformed back into organic matter (compost), thus promoting a circular model. The recyclability of these materials allows them to be transformed again, thus promoting a circular model.
