FELIX INSTRUMENTS will be hosting a free event (lunch provided) on Wednesday, December 11 th to avocado growers, packers and distributors to educate on the use of near infrared technology in agriculture and fruit maturity measurement. The Avocado Quality Meter, released by Felix Instruments earlier this year, enables avocado growers and QA personnel to measure dry matter more quickly and more accurately, while eliminating the need to destroy measured fruit. With validation studies showing highly accurate readings of less than 1 dry matter unit, along with significant cost savings in man hours and fruit waste, the avocado industry is quickly adopting this new technology as their standard method for measuring dry matter.
