INTERKO has cemented its position as the leading global supplier of fruit ripening systems with the launch of a new range of energy-efficient solutions that the Dutch firm will exhibit at Fruit Logistica 2016 on 3-5 February in Berlin, Germany. “Interko is constantly evolving and we are looking forward to revealing the latest advances in ripening technology on our stand in Berlin this year,” explains Chris Maat, managing director/partner at Interko. “We’ve been in the market for many years but we are not standing still. We are committed to working with new technology and making improvements to our standard units in a way that makes us truly excited about the future for our company,” Maat continues. Latest technology advancesInterko is using a pioneering energy-efficient cooling unit, which will be presented at the annual Berlin show, that comes complete with the INTERKO SMART control system and a new integrated design. This new technology relies on integrated sensors that offer improved controllability to the user and greater energy-efficiency, which, in turn, will result in cost savings for the company’s clients. During 2015 Interko also unveiled its first major project to use LED lighting, with the completion of a 12-room banana ripening installation at a major fresh produce operator’s facilities in Barcelona, Spain. “The decision to switch to LED is now very compelling with the falling prices of LED products, their environmental benefits and their ever-improving efficiency,” says Maat. “We have further energy saving developments in the pipeline that will have a huge impact on the way fresh fruit is ripened today and we hope to be in a position to release further details during Fruit Logistica itself.” This year Interko will also showcase its bespoke ripening designs at Asia Fruit Logistica in Hong Kong and at Germany’s refrigeration trade exhibition Chillventa. With Fruit Logistica 2016 just around the corner, Interko invites both existing and potential clients to meet with its managing director/partner Chris Maat, business development manager Anna Zegveld, and Neil Turbitt, developer of the INTERKO SMART control system, in Hall 1.2, Stand D-07. “Come and see us to find out more and discover how our bespoke service can solve your ripening requirements through tailor-made solutions,” Maat says. “We’re proud to offer everything from a simple plug-and-play ripening solution for a basic room to high-end, multi-layer ripening rooms for big distribution centres.” Visit us at Fruit Logistica!Hall 1.2, Stand D-073-5 February 2016Berlin, Germany About InterkoInterko is the global leader for the design, manufacture and installation of cost-effective, high quality and low-maintenance ripening rooms for fresh fruit.
