New mobile ripening system at Fruit Attraction 2021

INTERKO, a world leader in the design, manufacture and installation of state-of-the-art ripening chambers for fruit, has taken advantage of its presence at Fruit Attraction 2021 to present its mobile ripening system, the result of a collaboration of more than five years with the tropical fruit importer and marketer Fyffes. This solution consists of a shipping container that functions as a ripening chamber for up to 20 pallets. It is thus a technology that is particularly suitable for customers who need flexibility, temporarily increase their ripening capacity, do not have the infrastructure to accommodate a ripening chamber or do not wish to invest in a fixed installation. Chris Maat, managing partner and director of Interko, explains: "The chamber is small in size so you can't go inside and therefore you have to rely on its automation and sensors to know what is going on. In a conventional chamber, it's totally different because you can go in and check if everything is OK".
