British Onions?are working with AHDB Horticulture and NIAB to organise an open day for all involved in onions. The day will provide an exchange of agronomy and marketing information for onion growers. Bruce Napier (Vegetable Specialist, NIAB) will provide a summary of results from the onion variety trials 2016. A review of crop protection approvals will be explained by Andy Richardson at A&B Agronomy. Sam Rix, the British Onion R&D Chairman will provide current AHDB Horticulture funded onion research with Dr Behr at AMI providing European onion harvest results. To conclude the event our British Onions Chairman, Andrew Holding, will discuss onion marketing prospects for the 2016/2017 season. This will be an informative day with time to visit the extensive onion bulb variety display, with all participating seed & set companies in attendance to discuss their different varieties. ?The event will commence at 12 noon for registration, a light lunch and viewing of the varieties. ?
