The FAM Tridis 240 marks a new generation of tridimensional dicers designed by FAM to excel in the most crucial performance indicators. The FAM Tridis 240 is designed for the very demanding frozen vegetable & fruit and French fry industry. This dicer increases the maximum capacity known in the industry with at least another 10%, while maintaining an excellent cut quality. FAM started working on a new high-capacity tridimensional dicer in close consultation with leading companies in the industry. Together with these partners we sought out the key performance indicators in order to provide a better answer to the key issues in the frozen vegetable & fruit and French fry industry. We deducted five areas of importance: capacity, cut quality, hygiene, simplicity and maintenance. To improve the cut quality we had to address the product guidance. The geometry of the slicing knife was optimized to produce a cleaner first cut. Then the product is guided meticulously through the circular and crosscut knife spindles leading to a precise cut and higher yield with less slivers and fines. The capacity of the FAM Tridis 240 was increased by running at a higher velocity and by reducing the cutting zone length. By moving the cutting tools closer together and decreasing the transit time of the product, we raised the capacity without compromising on cut quality. Depending on the product and the cut size, the FAM Tridis 240 has an increased capacity of 10% to 40% compared to other machinery in the industry. Perfect performance is made easy for operators by keeping the design of the FAM Tridis 240 simple and clear. For example, by offering auxiliary tools that make changing the cutting tools an easy and quick process. The Set & Forget™ Technology for the circular knife spindle and the slicing guide makes fine-tuning the cutting tools an easy job. We prefer simplicity over needless complexity. The FAM Tridis 240 has some clear benefits regarding maintenance. Features include a movable electrical cabinet that provides easy access to the drive compartment, the cartridge system for removing the shafts and it’s bearings, which are lifetime greased and sealed.
