TOMRA SORTING FOOD will showcase its award-winning Nimbus BSI free-fall sorting machine at the INC World Nut and Dried Fruit Congress 2016 being held in San Diego, California. The Nimbus BSI is the current holder of the INC’s Innovation Award which it won at last year’s Congress in Antalya, Turkey, in recognition of the sorter’s breakthrough applications for nuts and raisin processors. This year, experts from TOMRA Sorting Food will be available on Booth 17 at the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego from May 30-June 1 to discuss the Nimbus BSI’s technologies and capabilities. Utilizing TOMRA’s Biometric Signature Identification (BSI) technology, the Nimbus BSI free-fall sorting machine accurately detects the biometric characteristics of nuts, dried fruits and other commodities. By combining the efficiency of laser detection with a BSI module, the machine can easily identify foreign materials, chlorophyll, mycotoxins, water and oil content. Karel Strubbe, TOMRA Sorting Food’s sales director for Americas and Oceania, says: “Exhibiting at the Congress means we are able to meet food professionals, suppliers, traders and buyers from across the industry and learn more about their ongoing needs. It also provides us with a great opportunity to showcase the Nimbus BSI’s array of capabilities and explain how it can help improve potential customers’ operations." “Our BSI technology makes it an ideal pre-sorting machine. By successfully combining laser detection, BSI and extremely precise air ejectors, the Nimbus BSI delivers an innovative approach to sorting a wide range of nuts and fresh, dried or individually quick frozen fruit. Due to its unrivalled performance, we expect the sorter to once again be very well received at the Congress.”
