ULMA Packaging was again present in Hispack-Bta showing new applications and packaging systems of its wide range of products, highlighting booth’s size and design, and specially its content. Packaging automationIn the area of automation of packaging lines could be seen different applications of robotic integration solutions for loading, unloading and product case packing. On one hand there was a plastic crate destacking system and case packing with ULMA’s robot. Trays where previously sealed in a Mondini Trave 1000. Marel’s booth was also showing an ULMA TFS 700 with automatic product loading of meat sliced products. As official distributors of RAMA for Spain and Portugal, were several automated solutions for primary and secondary packaging with cartoning machines. Flow packOne of the main stars was the new high performance flow pack wrapper FR 500, especially targeted to bakery and pastry industries. Visitors could see how the machine comfortably reached production of 500 pack/min with a product that simulated chocolate bars. Another application which aroused great interest was the flow pack resealable pack for wheat pancakes wrapped in modified atmosphere (MAP). This simple system allows product to be consumed while without loosing their original freshness. The range of flow pack wrapping was completed with a FM 300 model with a shrink tunnel which performed a second skin packaging for beef ribs and loins adapting automatically pack’s length to the product’s dimensions. ThermoformingThermoforming machines had also a top presence. The new range of TFS skin thermoformers were shown. These machines have been specifically developed for industries such as meat, ready meals, fish and seafood. Besides the characteristics of a skin packaging, in which the product becomes the real star on the package itself, this range adds all the common features in the TFS hygienic design machine family. Two models, the TFS 400 skin and the TFS 700 were shown. The latter had a double lid which adds advantages such as to minimization of tray’s size allowing the placement of labels in the entire top surface. It was also exhibited the cleanable design TFS 300 thermoformer for a medium level performance, allowing the use of microwaveable and ovenable films. Applications which demand is increasing among consumers. Vertical wrappersIn the field of vertical wrappers, aroused great interest the new format change system that minimizes downtime. The new system was presented along with a quick automatic roll changing. Both systems increase productivity and offer ergonomic improvements facing the machine operator. TraysealersLast but not least, was the presence of the traysealers. In the aforementioned Trave 1000, must be added the ULMA Scorpius 600 traysealer. It is a proven reliability of traysealer targeted for packaging of meat products, both fresh and processed with a medium-high performance level. Interest of the visitorsIn short, the large influx of visitors who visited the stand and the great interest shown in the above, demonstrate the outstanding leadership that holds ULMA in Spain and its status as a world reference in the design and manufacture of equipment and packaging systems high technology.
