XVI Technical Postharvest Day in Spain

On Tuesday 16th of May, IRTA organizes in Lleida the "XVI Technical Postharvest Day". Companies need to optimize their production costs and offer a quality product, sometimes with insufficient means to do so. Therefore, a strong commitment is needed between the industry, institutions, organizations and research centers to work in a coordinated manner and to offer alternative techniques that can solve the current problems. An example of this commitment is this event, which pretends to be an occasion for both the dissemination of new knowledge transferable to the sector and for the contact of the fruit companies with the service ones, who already have developed products and equipment to offer solutions to the current challenges of the postharvest fruit market. This year's event aims to give an overview of the new technological tools applicable in the post-harvesting of fruits, to focus on the explanation of certain issues related to it, such as: control of the incidence of rotten, knowledge of the relation between the management of the parameters of operation of a cold room with the quality of the fruit and the prediction of the quality of the same in the supply chain. Also, a roundtable has been included to analyze the main challenges that companies have for the export of their products outside the European Union. In the afternoon, you will be able to know firsthand the main innovations that the service companies have prepared for this new campaign. The previous registration is mandatory and can be done through the registration form.
