As the holiday season approaches, the Postharvest Team would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for your trust and support throughout 2024. This year has been filled with exciting projects, collaborations, and innovations that fuel our passion to keep driving progress in the horticultural sector.

We’ll be back on January 7th with our regular daily updates on conservation technologies, processing, packaging, and marketing of fruits and vegetables. As always, you can stay informed through Postharvest.biz and our weekly newsletter, Postharvest News, every Monday.

In this final newsletter of the year, we are excited to share a recap of our achievements in 2024, as well as a preview of the exciting developments we have planned for 2025.

Milestones of 2024

Website Updates: Design and Functionality

Earlier this year, we launched newly redesigned versions of Poscosecha.com and Postharvest.biz, featuring an enhanced layout and a more user-friendly experience. These platforms now offer a broader range of tools that make accessing news, technical insights, and commercial content easier than ever, improving navigation for both Spanish-speaking and international users.

This upgrade strengthens our commitment to providing timely, high-quality information to the postharvest sector while fostering a vibrant community of collaboration and knowledge exchange.

Additionally, we integrated the Biblioteca Horticultura into Poscosecha.com, accessible from the "Biblioteca" section in the main menu. This section now houses an extensive collection of specialized technical documents, with a revamped search function to help professionals find books, authors, and topics quickly, providing essential resources for training and research.

Launch of Directorio Poscosecha de Novedades 2024

This year marked a milestone with the relaunch of the Directorio Poscosecha de Novedades, returning to print after several years of being exclusively digital. Distributed at Fruit Attraction 2024, it gave companies the opportunity to showcase their products and services, each linked to their Poscosecha.com profile via a QR code.

The official launch took place at the Agrobank booth, attended by more than 70 participants, and culminated with the first-ever Postharvest Awards, presented in two categories:

  • Innovation in Postharvest 2024: Awarded to Citrosol’s CATsystem®, the most-voted product for its innovation.
  • Postharvest 4.0: Recognizing the La Palma Cooperative for its leadership in modernization and sustainability within horticultural production.

Open Access Digital Publications

  • Book "Sostenibilidad Hídrica en Horticultura y Poscosecha": A comprehensive guide on advanced technologies and strategies for efficient water management. Available for free in the Horticulture Library and through our newsletters.
  • New Digital Magazine 'Actual Poscosecha': A curated collection of the most impactful sector developments in 2024, created in collaboration with leading technical experts.
