The VBN Hydrangea product specification changed on 2 April 2012, informed FloraHolland Newsletter nr 6. ?The following points have been amended: Grading code S23 (flower diameter) is mandatory from 2 April 2012 Grading code S80 (maximum percentage old wood) has been added to position 4 and is mandatory from 2 April 2012 Grading code L11 (number of stems per bunch) has been moved from position 4 to position 5 and is mandatory from 2 April 2012 Grading code S50 (flower colour) has been added to position 6 and is advised. VBN Hydrangea product specification is available in the links and pdf? (it is the same document). Also available on the same document are some supplementary specifications regarding to the quality: Hydrangea should be delivered in bunches of 10 stems. You may also supply Hydrangea bundled in 2 bunches of 5 stems or multiples of 10. If you can pack no more than 5 stems per packaging unit, you may supply Hydrangea in bunches of 5. ?In this case, you are advised to indicate this in the L11 code. As loading specification, ?Hydrangea should be supplied in a container with water?, with the advice to pre-treat Hydrangea with a pre-treatment agent that contains aluminium sulphate as an active substance (code3/4 on the label).
