Nexy is a DECCO biofungicide that revolutionises the field of residue-free postharvest since, as we have already mentioned, it is the first biofungicide registered in Spain for use in the postharvest of citrus, apples and pears. Nexy has shown significant efficacy against Botrytis cinerea, Penicillium sp. and Colletotrichum sp. It has an antifungal action that competes for nutrients with the fungi, so that it does not allow them to grow on the fruit. Nexy is formulated with a micro-organism authorised for organic farming that we at Decco commonly call the "gluttonous yeast", as it helps us in a natural way to reduce fruit rot. Another advantage of Nexy is its synergies with other products such as fungicides and coatings. Also, as it is not considered to be just another active material, the fruit can be treated much more completely in order to have greater defences against fungi and external pathogens that can affect it during its marketing period.
